Hi Michael,The Char-Broil EVOLVE Smart Digital Gas BBQ is gas-powered for cooking and uses a standard LPG propane cylinder, but it also needs to be plugged into a 220–240V mains socket for its smart features and ignition system, and it does not run on batteries.Thanks!
