Delivery & Brexit: We're delivering as normal

As we are a UK based business dispatching items to Ireland we have seen an increase in questions relating to brexit and delivery. We are still operating and delivering as normal, and any import fees are already included in our price. Other popular questions are answered below:

Are you still delivering?

Yes, we are still delivering as normal.

What are my consumer protections?

You consumer protections are the same as buying from a company based in Ireland.

Will my goods be held up at customs?

We do not expect there to be any hold up of your goods at customs.

Will I have to pay customs duty?

No, all duty is included in our price so there are no additional charges.

What happens about VAT?

It is already included within our price.

What if I want to return goods?

Our returns process remains the same. You will not receive a refund for any customs taxes paid but won’t need to pay again on replacement orders.

Will warranties be honoured?

Yes, any warranties will be honoured as usual.

COVID-19 update:

In these unprecedented times we want to let you know we are doing everything possible to support our staff, families, customers and country.

We are open and operating as normal, taking orders and delivering to customers. The current government guidance states that businesses will still be able to take online orders and deliver items to people's homes.

At the Buy it Direct Group, one of our company values is “Better together” and this is particularly relevant at the moment. We need to band together to ensure everyone’s safety, health and security. We want to assure you that we’re dedicated to offering the same level of service you’ve come to expect from us over the last 20 years. It’s what we live for and that will not change.

The safety and health of our staff and customers is top priority for us, and we’ve put some stringent measures in place to do our very best to maintain the best possible service, whilst protecting the team and our customers. We’re closely following the NHS and government guidelines.

We’re experiencing incredible demand for some of our products, like fridges, freezers and computing equipment. We’re working closely with our suppliers to source as much stock as we can to meet customer needs. We have new stock arriving daily.

We’ve also instructed any staff experiencing even minor symptoms not to come into work. This means we may have slightly less capacity than normal. Because of this, you may experience slight delays on despatch and possible delays processing returns, please bear with us as we are doing are absolute best and we truly value your custom.

Thank you for your continued trust and support

FAQs

1. Can I place an order?

Yes, we are still accepting orders. Online retailers are not affected by the government shut down.

2. Are delivery times affected?

Our teams are working hard to despatch as many orders as possible. We’ve put some stringent safety measures in place to protect our teams which means we may have slightly reduced capacity. As a result, please note that delivery times for some items may be longer than usual, but we’re working hard to despatch all orders as quickly as possible.

3. Is it safe to receive orders?

The risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package is low. To make deliveries as safe as possible, our team are regularly washing their hands and are now operating a doorstep delivery service, where deliveries are not brought inside the home to minimise any risk.

4. Is it possible to reduce contact with the driver when they deliver my order?

Yes. Drivers have been advised to reduce contact with customers. We are also ensuring our delivery team wear masks and gloves where available.

5. Is it possible to return items?

Yes, you can continue to return items. Due to reduced capacity it may take a little longer than usual, so please bear with us. For information on how to return an item, click here.
