Question from Chris F: Asked on 05/09/2026 Hi, if I am installing using an extractor kit, do the vents at the top of the chimney need to be exposed or can I just use the bottom section of the chimney.
Hi Chris,If you are installing the Smeg KSED95NEE with an extractor kit, the vents at the top of the chimney need to remain unobstructed so that the extracted air can be ducted outside; the lower chimney section alone cannot be used for ducted extraction.Thanks!

Hi, The Smeg KSED95NEE Chimney Cooker Hood must be installed at a minimum of 750 mm above a gas hob (and 650 mm above an electric hob), in accordance with Smeg manufacturer installation requirements.
