The details
Stylish yet effective
This stylish air purifier is perfect for those who suffer from asthma, hay fever or allergies. While some air purifiers just provide one-stage filtration, this model features an advanced 7 stage air purification system including HEPA, Carbon and extra PM2.5 filtration technologies to remove all forms of airborne contaminants that can have a negative impact on your health and well-being. Each stage is specifically designed to filter out different types of particles and pollutants, leaving you with nothing but clean, healthy air. It captures everything from dust, pollen, pet dander, and mould and even helps reduce the smell of cigarette smoke too!
Easy to monitor
This air purifier comes fitted with a clever LED indicator that changes colour according to the air quality in the room. As the air quality increases, the LED light changes colour from Red through to Green. It's perfect for checking on the air quality and adjusting the fan speed accordingly. There's even a handy light to inform you when it's time to replace the filters. The air purifier features a simple, touch control panel with four fan speed settings and a 12 hour timer - Ideal if you want to leave it unattended to refresh your room. This unit has a PM2.5 numerical indicator that accurately measures the air quality so you know the unit is working as it's supposed to.

Question from Tish H: Asked on 12/07/2025 Hello, I have this model EAP500HC, I’ve read the manual but need help.
How do I know when the device’s ionisation is switched on? The noise it makes is the same when you push any button, so when I follow the manual and hold down the power and auto buttons for 5 seconds it beeps, but the same beep happens if I do it again, so I can’t tell if it’s switched on or off? Does the Plasma Ionisation actually do anything or is it a gimmick? It’s ok if it is, I’m still happy with the product, I’d just like to know what’s going on with the ionisation option. I can’t see a way to tell whether it’s been switched on when I follow the instructions. I don’t know if I should feel or hear a difference in the air, I know that sounds stupid but I’m just confused. Is it even a setting that should be used often, or just occasionally? How do I know if it’s on? The beeps aren’t helping, I don’t know if I’m doing it wrong. I have small hands so it’s hard for my touch to even register sometimes. Please help :)
Hi, The ionisation feature on the electriQ EAP500HC Air Purifier is turned on or off by holding the Power and Auto buttons together for 5 seconds. The unit will beep once when this is done, but there’s no visible indicator or different sound to confirm whether it’s on or off. Because of this, the best way to know its status is to count how many times you've toggled it.
The Ioniser works silently and doesn’t produce any noticeable change in air sound or feel. — it’s designed to help reduce airborne particles like allergens and bacteria as part of the purifier’s 7-stage filtration system. It’s safe to use regularly, especially during allergy season or when extra air sterilisation is needed.
Even though there’s no obvious sign when it's on, using the ioniser is beneficial and recommended for cleaner indoor air.
Thanks!
Question from Lauren Donaldson: Asked on 24/06/2020 Looking to buy this for my son’s hay fever issues but wondering what the differences are between this and the EAP600HCUV-WI-FI model?
I can see it covers and extra 10m2 and has Wi-fi but is that it?
I have also relied on Which? reviews but it’s a 2 year old test.
Any advice appreciated :)
Thank you for your question!
The EAP600 has a UV light sterilisation and is WIFI compatible, while EAP500 only uses HEPA and Carbon filters and is not compatible with WIFI. I hope this helps.
Thank you,
Liam
