Capable of extracting up to 8 litres per day, the DESD8LW also enhances the air you breathe with its built-in dust and allergen filter. It removes excess moisture to prevent mould growth, protect your home and help laundry dry faster — all while running quietly in the background.
Energy-efficient moisture control

Choose your preferred humidity level or let the dehumidifier adjust automatically. The clear indicator light helps you track room conditions at a glance.
Sleep-friendly mode
Ideal for bedrooms — sleep mode dims the display and reduces noise so you can maintain healthy humidity throughout the night.
Laundry drying mode
Speed up drying time for clothes by switching on laundry mode — a low-cost alternative to heated airers and tumble dryers.
Compact footprint
Its slim, compact design means it can sit comfortably in corners, utility rooms and tight spaces without getting in the way.
Automatic defrost function
The auto-defrost feature prevents ice build-up inside the unit, making it suitable for use in conservatories, garages and unheated spaces.

Question from Philippa: Asked on 26/12/2025 I have just purchased one of these, but it will not connect to my wifi, can you advise how to do this please?
Hi,To connect your electriQ DESD8LW dehumidifier to Wi-Fi, make sure your phone is on a 2.4?GHz network (not 5?GHz) and the TUYA SMART app is installed. Turn off mobile data on your phone and ensure the dehumidifier is on and in standby mode. Press and hold the SWING button for 3 seconds to put it in Wi-Fi pairing mode—flashing twice per second for Quick mode or once per second for AP mode.Open the app, tap “+”, select “Dehumidifier”, and follow the instructions to enter your Wi-Fi password. If it doesn’t connect, switch modes, place the unit near the router, and check your Wi-Fi uses WPA2-AES encryption. Thanks!
Question from Barbara: Asked on 05/12/2025 How long is the lead?
Hi Barbara,The ElectriQ Low Temp 8L Smart Desiccant Laundry Dehumidifier comes equipped with a 1.5?m (5?ft) power cable. Thanks!
Question from Bianka: Asked on 04/12/2025 Hi, is the 8l version actually the same device as the 10l version DESD9LW? The 10l DESD9LW does feature the heating function in the title and the product description while the 8l version doesn’t although it’s in the same link. This would be very confusing for the buyer when a different size option would represent an entirely different device. I would like to buy the 8l version but only if the heating funktion is confirmed. Thank you
Hi,The electriQ 8?L DESD8LW does produce warm air as part of its dehumidifying function, so it is not entirely without heating. However, unlike the 10?L DESD9LW, it does not have a dedicated, thermostat-controlled heating mode—it provides passive warmth rather than adjustable heat. So, while both models generate heat, the 10?L version offers stronger, controllable heating, whereas the 8?L version only provides gentle warm airflow. Thanks!
Question from Al: Asked on 27/10/2025 Can I use this in a very small utility room 113cm x 190cm to help dry laundry high up on bars?
There is no heating in the room, my washing machine is in it and Consumer Unit.
Washing would not be over dehumidifier ( nor consumer unit)
Hi,the electriQ Low Temp 8?L Smart Desiccant Laundry Dehumidifier in your small utility room (113?cm × 190?cm) to help dry laundry on high bars, even without heating, as long as the dehumidifier has enough clearance for airflow, is positioned so air can circulate around the clothes, and your electrical circuit can handle it alongside the washing machine. It’s best to avoid placing laundry directly in front of the unit, allow some ventilation if possible, and monitor drying times, as cooler conditions may slow the process. Thanks!
