Question from Helen: Asked on 24/04/2026 How do you clean the filters? Can they be put in a dishwasher?
Hi, The grease filters in the AEG DGE5861HM canopy cooker hood are removable metal filters that are designed to be cleaned regularly. They can be washed either by hand or safely placed in a dishwasher using a normal wash cycle (around 50–65°C). Once cleaned and fully dried, they should be refitted into the hood.
Thank you.
Question from D smith: Asked on 05/04/2026 Does this have a carbon filter
Hi, The AEG 6000 Series 80 cm Canopy Cooker Hood (model DGE5861HM) supports use with a carbon (charcoal) filter for recirculation mode, but the carbon filter is not included and needs to be purchased separately if required.
Thank you.
Question from Jane: Asked on 16/03/2026 Does this extractor need to be hard wired?
Hi, This cooker hood needs to be hard-wired into the electrics and installed by an electrician. It does not come with a standard plug.
Thank you.
Question from Adrian: Asked on 27/01/2026 Is it possible to attach the ventilation duct to the side of the housing on this unit as the illustration suggests?
Hi, The AEG DGE5861HM hood has its exhaust outlet on the top, so the ventilation duct cannot be attached directly to the side. If you need the airflow to exit sideways, the duct must first connect to the top outlet and then be redirected with elbows or flexible ducting.
Thank you.
