Question from Francine: Asked on 16/06/2026 Hi does the pergola withstand strong winds
Hi, The pergola is suitable for normal UK weather when securely anchored to a solid base. However, it is not designed for storm-force winds. In strong winds, the louvres should be opened and side panels retracted to reduce wind resistance.
Thank you.
Question from Jenn: Asked on 30/04/2026 What is the angle of the tilt on the louvres?
Some are 130° and some are 90°.
Thank you
Hi, Based on the official manual , the FTR233A louvres are designed to tilt from a flat, closed position to a vertical, fully open position, which corresponds to a 90° angle. The technical assembly diagrams illustrate the slats moving to a standard upright orientation rather than an over-tilted position. To ensure the longevity of the unit and prevent the metal from bowing, we recommends keeping the louvres in this open position when not in use and ensuring the roof is kept clear of any large quantities of water or debris.
Thank you.
Question from Pd: Asked on 19/04/2026 Hi can the sides go on any side? Like left and front but if you prefer left and right? Can the side panels be placed anywhere
Hi,Yes, the side panels can be fitted on any side of the pergola, so you can choose where to place them—such as left, right, front, or back—depending on what direction you want protection or privacy from.Thank you!
Question from ben: Asked on 11/12/2025 Can you show me how the feet are supposed to bolt down please there appears to be no holes on any of the photos
Hi Ben,The pergola’s feet are designed to be secured using the base plates at the bottom of each vertical post. Each plate has holes through which you insert expansion bolts into a solid surface like concrete or a paved patio. To install, position the pergola, mark the holes, drill into the concrete, insert the anchors, and then bolt the base plates down. This ensures maximum stability, and if drilling isn’t possible, alternatives like heavy weights or ground stakes can be used, though bolting to a solid base is always recommended. Thanks!
Question from Yvonne: Asked on 04/12/2025 Hi, could you please confirm if the colour is nearer black and not a grey. Thank you
Hi Yvonne,The pergola is a “charcoal” colour, which is a super dark grey that’s really close to black. In everyday outdoor light, it will mostly look black, though up close you might notice it’s technically a very deep grey. Thanks!
