Question from Scott: Asked on 03/05/2026 Does this model have a drip tray or valve for spillages?
Hi Scott,The electriQ EIQ80INDD induction hob does not have a drip tray or any kind of liquid collection valve; instead, any steam and cooking vapours are drawn down through the built-in extractor and filtered, while spills on the surface simply need to be wiped from the glass like a standard hob. Thanks!
Question from Peter: Asked on 31/03/2026 Where is the extraction outlet on the 80cm vented hob is it oblong shaped approx 220mm x 90mm at the rear of the hob.
Hi, The electriQ eIQ80INDD venting induction hob does not have a rear oblong extraction outlet; instead, it uses a downdraft system where air is drawn down through the hob and routed through internal ducting components (including a square pipe and elbow), and installation requires a side cabinet opening of approximately 230 × 100 mm for the ducting path, meaning the outlet is part of the ducting system rather than a fixed rear vent on the hob.
Thank you.
Question from Mo: Asked on 12/03/2026 Hi there is the extraction vent in the glass job top made of metal or plastic?
Hi, The extraction inlet on the eiQ80INDD induction hob consists of an inlet mesh with an aluminium grease filter beneath it. The grease filter is a metal (aluminium) component designed to trap grease and can be removed for cleaning as part of routine maintenance.
Thank you.
Question from Richard: Asked on 10/01/2026 Can I install in static caravan
Hi Richard,You can technically install the electriQ 80?cm 4-zone venting induction hob (eIQ80INDD) in a static caravan, but only if your caravan’s electrical supply can handle its high power demand (around 7?kW, usually needing a 32?A dedicated circuit) and if a qualified electrician installs it. Many static caravans have limited electrical capacity, so without upgrading the supply, the hob may not run at full power or could trip the breakers. You also need to ensure there’s enough space and ventilation below the unit. In short, it’s possible, but only with proper electrical capacity, professional installation, and careful planning. Thanks!
Question from Aisling: Asked on 03/12/2025 Do you need a grease filter aswell as the carbon filter for the recirculation kit?
Hi,For the electriQ 80cm 4 Zone Induction Hob using a recirculation kit, you need both a grease filter and a carbon filter. The grease filter traps grease and cooking particles, which is essential in all hoods, while the carbon filter removes odours from the air before it’s recirculated back into the kitchen. If your hob were vented outside instead, only the grease filter would be required. Thanks!
Question from Tim Butler: Asked on 25/11/2025 Does the extraction point downwards from the underside of the hob and is 150mm diameter?
Hi Tim, yes, this induction hob has an extractor that draws air downwards from the underside of the hob, and the air outlet is 150 mm in diameter. Thank you.
Question from Clare: Asked on 19/11/2025 Does this unit fit into a 600 mm base cabinet?
Hi Clare, this model is 80 cm wide and requires a cut-out of 765 mm x 495 mm, so it will not fit into a standard 600 mm base cabinet. Thank you.
Question from Marisa: Asked on 13/10/2025 Can I install a cooker underneath ?
Hi Marisa, please do not install this appliance above another appliance. Thank you.
Question from Rebecca Andrews-Jones: Asked on 29/09/2025 Is this suitable for compact laminate worktops
Hi Rebecca,The electriQ EI80INDD 80 cm Venting Induction Hob can be installed on compact laminate worktops, provided you ensure the cut-out is precise and sufficient ventilation space is maintained beneath the worktop for the built-in extractor to operate efficiently and prevent overheating. Thanks!
Question from Tracey: Asked on 24/09/2025 Does this job need a vent to go under and out of the wall ?
Hi Tracey,The electriQ EI80INDD induction hob can be installed using either External Extraction, which requires an external vent and the eiQEDKINDD kit, or Recirculation Mode, which requires no external vent but uses the eiQIDKINDD kit to filter and return air to the kitchen. Thanks!
