Question from Gary: Asked on 15/01/2026 Hi, when this is used with a charcoal filter on recirculation mode, where does the clean air come back out? Ie does it still need an extract pipe through the cupboard or does it push the filtered air back down below?
Hi, When used in recirculation mode with a charcoal filter, this Bosch hood does not need an external duct; it filters the air and returns the cleaned air back into the kitchen.

Hi Sheila,The Bosch DLN53AA70B canopy cooker hood requires a 120 mm ducting diameter for external extraction, but no maximum length is specified. For optimal performance, however, the ducting should be kept as short and straight as possible; if a 5-metre run is necessary, use smooth-walled ducting and minimize bends to maintain efficiency.Thanks!

Hi Marilyn,The Bosch DLN53AA70B canopy hood includes a washable aluminium grease filter; a separate charcoal filter is only required for odour removal when the unit is set to recirculation mode, but is not needed if the hood is ducted to vent air outside.Thanks!
