Question from Karin: Asked on 15/06/2026 Can this be fitted in the worktop directly above a built under double oven ? Specifically an aeg 6000 series.
Hi, Yes — the AEG IKX64301CB induction hob can be installed above a built-under double oven, including compatible AEG 6000 Series models, as this is an approved installation setup in the manufacturer’s guidance; it requires correct cabinet ventilation and the specified minimum clearance (6mm where appliances are from the same manufacturer range group) to ensure safe operation.
Thank you.
Question from Craig: Asked on 08/06/2026 Can this be used without a compatible extractor hood?
Hi Craig,Yes, you can use the AEG 5000 Series IKX64301CB induction hob without a compatible extractor hood, as the hood is not required for the hob to operate and the Hob2Hood feature is optional and will simply not function if no compatible hood is installed. Thanks!
Question from Lucy: Asked on 19/05/2026 Do I need to buy special pans?
Hi, This is an induction hob, so you’ll need cookware with a magnetic base. Most stainless steel and cast iron pans are suitable, while aluminium, copper, glass and ceramic won’t work unless they’re specifically marked as induction-compatible. A simple way to check is to use a magnet on the base of your pan — if it sticks firmly, it will work on this hob.
Thank you.
Question from Sheila: Asked on 13/05/2026 does hob sit on top worktop i.e small lip all round or is cut flush into worktop?
Hi Sheila,The AEG IKX64301CB is a built-in hob that is cut into the worktop and fixed from underneath, so it does not sit on top with a visible lip, but instead sits nearly level with the surface with only a small sealing gap around the edge. Thanks!

Question from Mike: Asked on 19/10/2025 Does the hob need to be hard wired
